Intelect grows by thinking

How can our intellect develop?

Will you say that, `when we attend school and college, and when we listen to the teachings, lectures, our inetellect grows'.

If a monkey, bear or dog is taught whether its intelligent grows. You may say `yes' but marginally. But a monkey, bear or dog are trained, its intellect is different to human beings and is limited.

You listen to a lecture but stop there without analysing of what is said, will your intellect grow? Certainly not. Analysing of what you have heard will grow your intelligence. Analysing is nothing but THINKING on that matter. Thus for a intellect to grow we have to THINK. Again the intention to think should be there. In otherwords the intellect can develop only by ITSELF. No other person can put intelligence on you. It has to develop by your own thinking. The motive, the will to develop intellect, should be there. And that could be achieved by THINKING.

Practise THINKING and your intellect will grow.

If you stop thinking or not have the intention to use your intellect to develop, the intellect will not develop, it may decay. It may take the opposite direction.

So think for a while, "Are you THINKING and developing the intellect that is already there right inside you"?

Suppose that you decided NOT to think. It is clear, that in time your intellect would decay and regress significantly.

So, intellect has a motive to develop itself. The best and the most logical choice for intellect - is to grow and expand itself.

Otherwise it decays and in the extreme case it may even cease to exist.

It is a pleasant feeling to become more intelligent and knowledgeable?

So THINK.

Don't dry your intelligence

Jhun Jhun Wala left his intelligence to decay.

So did his friend and so they both were sent to a mental hospital.

One day while they were walking past the hospital swimming pool, Jhun Jhun Wala's friend suddenly jumped into the deep end. He sank to the bottom of the pool and stayed there. Jhun Jhun Wala promptly jumped in to save him. He swam to the bottom and pulled his friend out.

When the Head Nurse became aware of Jhun Jhun Wala's heroic act she immediately ordered him to be discharged from the hospital, as she now considered him to be mentally stable.

When she went to tell Jhun Jhun Wala the news she said, "Jhun Jhun Wala, I have good news and bad news. The good news is you're being discharged; since you were able to rationally respond to a crisis by jumping in and saving the life of another patient, I have concluded that your act displays sound mindedness. The bad news is, your friend you saved, hung himself with his bathrobe belt in the bathroom. I am so sorry, but he's dead."

Jhun Jhun Wala replied "He didn't hang himself. I put him there to dry. How soon can I go home?"
