Namitha my favourite actress was born on January 27, 1977 in Surat, Gujarat, India. She is an Indian actress, who has appeared in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, Malayalam & English films.

Namitha has a limited acting talent but is intelligent and comic. Directors failed to use her talent judiciously. She is the one actress whose expose of her body and legs looks decent.

Namitha is a degree holder in English literature. Her father is a businessman while her mother is a house-wife.

Namitha was crowned Miss Surat during the year 1998. She went on to participate in the 2001 Miss India pageant and ended up as the fourth runner-up, while Celina Jaitley was crowned Miss India during this event.

Namitha did a number of TV commercials like Himani cream & hand soap, Arun Ice Cream, Manikchand Gutka, and Nile herbal shampoo.

Film director Siddiqui introduced her in a Malayalam movie.

Namitha clarifies that she is not Namitha Kapoor by which name some address her.

Namitha got a successful break after the release of 'Engal Anna' in which she starred opposite Vijayakanth. Namitha often appears in Tamil magazine front covers. She became even more popular after her dance number 'Arjuna Arjuna'.

Namitha has learnt Karate, loves to dance, watch movies, swim and play badminton in her spare time and likes to work out physically. She likes novels, especially by Sidney Sheldon, as well as comic books. She is a promoter of Gadgetguru.

Namitha’s new film ‘Sukra’ has been launched in July 2011 at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad.

‘Sukra’ story is wound around Namitha the heroine of the film in which Namitha is a police officer. Dimple is another heroine in the film.

Namitha was in Chennai yesterday to attend the audio launch of Ambuli, the first 3-D movie in Tamil.

As Namitha walked in, dressed casually in black jeans and a dark blue top, everyone’s eyes were on the curvy actress and the cameras went into a tizzy, clicking non-stop.

Namitha was called in to speak...

She started with, ‘Hi machans!’ This threw the crowd into frenzy and there were catcalls and whistles that punctuated her speech.

The actress ended her speech by blowing a flying kiss to the audience and left the venue immediately after. Cheran, made a few cynical remarks about Namitha’s actions, making himself prone to loosing friends.
