Gopi and Malar meet at Pollachi, Malar says to him that she loves him. For the first time ever Malar tells this openly and Gopi too opens up and tells her that he too loves her. Malar asks him why not they both commit suicide. Gopi then tells her instead of committing suicide why not they marry and face the situations boldly. This idea gives them enough strength and they both marry at a temple. Rohini and Gopi's little tailor shop boy help them.
One of the neighbor who happens to see them marrying informs to both Gopi's house and Malar's house. Malar's brother goes with his goonda elements and beats up Gopi's father who gets hospitalized in a serious condition.
Pandi and his father along with Maha's brother become so angry that they go to Malar's house and thrash her brother. Maha's brother takes a brick and hits his head which starts bleeding. Malars father comes there and they talk hot. Malar's father tells them henceforth Malar is not his daughter and they can do anything to her. Pandi's father tells him that they have not accepted Gopi has their son anymore.
In these conditions Gopi and Malar are on their way back home.

Gopi marries Malar in the temple while his engagement with Vanitha is taking place in Nelliandavar's house. Gopi feels that there are no elders to bless them. Malar tells him that her marriage took place with everyones blessing but it did not go off well.

Gopi goes back to his room to bring back his mobile accidentally enters the room where Malar has occupied. He is stunned seeing Malar there, Malar is overjoyed seeing him, she runs and embraces him. They talk about their love openly. Malar tells Gopi that if he marries any other person she would die. Gopi tells her why they should die but instead they will marry and face the situations.
Gopi tries to inform this to Vanitha when Rohini and the Tailor boy stop him and tell him that first marriage should take place and then they shall inform others.
Gopi and Malar go to shopping and do purchases. They purchase garland and yellow thread for tying and marrying.
Meanwhile engagement function is going on well at Nelli Andavar's house where Gopi's name is read with Vanitha.
Gopi's father goes to invite Maha and her parents for the betrothal of Gopi with Vanitha and paramu with Nelli Andavars youngest son but they shut the door on their face.
Malar receives a divorce notice from Gokul which she signs and takes it. Malars father gets upset on this and tells his son to bring in the Auditor to write all the properties upon the three. Malar's brother then tries to change Malar's decisions.

Nelli Andar comes with his wife to Gopi's house and fixes a date for betrothal ceremony to marry Gopi with Vanitha.
Gopi or his father are unable to tell anything. Nelli Andavar also talks about the marriage of Paramu with his younger son and fixes that too.
Pandi meets his friend who had bad advised him and beat Gopi. He gives drinks and as he drinks he starts beating him up.
Vanitha calls up Gopi and starts talking with him and tells him that she will be often calling him up to get know his daily activities, his likes and dislikes.
Murthy who comes to know that Paramu is being talked to marry his brother feels bad about it and tells to his wife that he will be happy if this marriage does not take place.
Gokul tells to Gopi that all points to one thing and in the end Gopi's love with Malar will succeed. In the marriage of Gopi and Malar he will be giving divorce as their gift.
Gopi calls up Malar to tell this but Malar father lifts and phone and scolds him and Gopi cuts off the call. Malar's father calls up Gopi's father and abuses him and tells him to advice Gopi.
Pandi gives the photos and video CD of his marriage with Maha as asked by Maha's father. He takes those drouses that in kerosene and burns those in front of Pandi. Pandi gets shocked seeing the burning of the CD and the photos. Maha's father tells him that there should be no evidence left to say that he has married Maha hence he has burnt it. He tells now he will look for a new groom for her.
Pandi mother on her part tells that she too will look for a bride to her son and leaves.
Gopi's father is at the temple playing the Nadhaswaram as a prayer to God. Gopi comes there, his father tells him that Malar father had talked too much bad about them. He tells that very soon he will try to marry him off.
Nelli Andavar's brother dies in the hospital. Vanitha informs this to Gopi and Gopi inturn informs his family members.
Gopi's family come in a car to join the death occasion and as they enter they see some group of members rushing in and taking the body in a car. All happens in quick moments before anybody can realise what is happening.
Paramu takes the absense of their family members at house to her advantage and meets Sendhil. She asks him whether they can run away. He tells her they can run away right now. Paramu goes to bring her belongings to her house and Sendhil telephones his friends and tells them that finally he has locked the girl and they all can enjoy with her.
The dead body of Nelli Andavar's brother is taken to his first wife, Nelli Andavar goes there but he is not allowed to see his brother's face, so he returns, the second wife of the dead man and his daughter cry with Nelli to take them to the place to see for the last time the dead face. Nelli takes them and they stand far away and see the funeral.
Sendhil telephones his friends and ask them to be ready. He tells them that he will enjoy her for three days and from fourth day she is theirs.
At this time Shakti does a good job he brings in his rowdy elements and clubs down Sendhil who goes unconscious with blood in his face.
Paramu takes her belongings and sneaks out from the backdoor keeps it outside, returns back and goes out of the house from the front door telling that she is going to see her friend. She waits for Sendhil but she waits and waits he is never seen.
Paramu then returns home and family comes to know about her bad character and habits. They do not know how to solve this problem when innovatively Gopi makes a plan where the whole family in a group fall on her feat to make her feel that she is doing wrong. Paramu never never expected this and gets reformed.
Maha's mother pounds Maha's head when her target was Pandi who ducked. Maha is hospitalised and then gets back to her senses. She thinks that Gopi had tied her knot and thinks him to be her husband. The doctor advices the whole family that for 3 months she should not have any shocks which will be dangerous to her.
Maha treats Gopi has her husband in front of Pandi who gets to his height of anger against Gopi. Pandi goes out angrily, Gopi follows him tries to convince and tell him that these things had to be done to save Maha's life.
