Mahalaxmi and Rani are orphanage mates. One day Rani advertises in paper to find out her parents.
Yamuna sees the advertisement, Devaraj and Yamuna think Rani is her daughter and adopt her.
Rani finds out that their real daughter is Mahalaxmi, Rani does not want to loose her newly found luxury so she decides to remove Mahalaxmi from her way but all her plans fail.
Rani sees Prakash in her birthday function and falls in love with him, she tells this to Prakash but Prakash and Mahalaxmi are already in love.
Rani is sent out of Orphanage due to Manikam. She settles down in her mother's house. Sandhya at first does not know it is her own daughter but then she knows the true nature of Maha and Rani.
Sandhya and others support Maha and arrange her marriage with Prakash. At the marriage hall Prakash ties know with Rani to save his people from Rani's murderous acts. Devaraj is unable to bear this and gets hear-attack leading to his death.
Rani meets Topiaz who is angry on Prakash who had paid 100 crores to Highway company which were due. Topiaz leaves and while going the rowdy who had knifed and injured Mumtaz comes to meet him to take money. Topiaz gets afraid and takes him to a hiding place but before that Rani sees and comes to know that he is the attacker of Mumtaz. She secretly overhears their talking and comes to know he had come to kill Prakash. Rani gets angry on Topiaz. After the rowdy leaves she comes as though coming just then and tells him to do whatever he likes to do with Prakash.
Topiaz having got the permission meets Prakash in the road and stops his car. Her fights with him and rolls on the road. While doing so a car goes fast that way and crushes his right hand under it. Prakash admits him to a hospital.
At hospital police ask Topiaz if he as doubt on anybody, he says negatively. For once it looks that he has become a good samaritan just like we think Mumtaz could have become. Because both were hospitalised in critical conditions by Prakash. Topiaz tells the inspector that he wants to speak to him personally. He tells him that he will pursue the case and will find out who is behind this crime.
The doctor removes the injured hand since it may infect the whole body. Rani fakes crying standing before his bed. Prakash brings her out and there Rani tells him that it was she who was behind this since he had sent the rowdy to kill him. She tells Prakash that she had driven the car over Topiaz hand and the car can never be found.
Maha tells Yamuna that she is going to keep her name for her business.
Rani coming to know about the new business and its financier through Suja calls him and offers him bait of business and money. The financier asks for time and Rani threatens him. He gets furious and angry and says that before thinking of doing any harm to Mahalaxmi she has to face him first.
Rani overhears Mumtaz speaking to somebody and also sees gun in possession with her but her pleading with Prakash that she has come to kill him falls in his deaf ears.
Rani finally goes to take the help of Maha and informs her that Mumtaz had come to kill Prakash and asks her to tell this to Prakash. Right at this time they hear a shrilling voice.
Topiaz had sent a second other person to finish off Prakash but in the dark instead of Prakash he had knifed Mumtaz. Rani, Maha and others rush hearing some noise and find Mumtaz struggling for life with splash of blood strewn all over the place, her face and body. She is admitted to hospital and Prakash gives his blood and saves her life.
Topiaz visits the hospital and tells Mumtaz that on police enquiry she should spell out the names of Mahalaxmi and Anand who left loose the goonda on her.
The police makes enquiry with Prakash, Rani, Maha and Anand. Then the police takes the statement from Mumtaz at the hospital.
Topiaz finds that the police are not arresting Maha and Anand so he goes back and scolds Mumtaz for not giving her statement against them.
An old friend of Devaraj brings his daughter Ganga and asks Mahalaxmi to give her a work at her newly starting office. Yamuna supports it so Maha promises to give her a job.
It was Rani who had arranged Ganga to take up work at Mahalaxmi's office. While she is talking with Rani Anand happens to see this.
Topiaz sends a suitcase full of fake notes and hides it in the office of Mahalaxmi through his goondas so that when raided Mahalaxmi and Anand could be arrested.
The inspector Kaliamurthy who supports Topiaz raids the office and finds the suitcase full of fake notes but he also finds one more thing... that is two persons tied to a window pane who had brought that inside. The inspector still is not perturbed and tells even now nothing has changed. Then the inspector sees his senior inspector coming out of a room telling that it was he who had tied those person and orders the inspector Kaliamurthy to arrest those two persons.
Mahalaxmi successfully inaugurates her office. Rani who was a threat is cooly kidnapped and tied up in a secluded place by Jyothi Ramalingam.
He calls up Prakash to the place and leaves her in his custody who takes her back to home.
When Topiaz talks like severing his ties with Rani, Rani touches his hand and tells him that their relationship is more than money.
Mahalaxmi wins over her first huge contract from Weston with the active help from Balasubramaniam who helps in investing 50 crores.
Balasubraminiam decides to go to a temple alone meets with an accident and is hospitalised, Topiaz tells Rani about his triumph in committing this crime.
Inspector Kaliamurty meets Topiaz and Rani, he tells them that he will not enquire the lorry driver much but for this he needs a house registered in his name. Topiaz accepts to gift him a house to suppress the crime.
Balasubramaniam puts all his efforts to tell something to Mahalaxmi but succumbs to injuries. Vikram comes back to India and is pestered by debtors and so he calls back 50 crores given to Yamuna Associates. Maharani asks for time but he refuses. Back at home he hears from his mother how much they are indebted to Devaraj's family and the marriage events, death of Devaraj etc.
Vikram decides to give time to Mahalaxmi by calling her. Meanwhile Prakash through Malinga settles 20 crores with Vikram which money Vikram utilises for paying his debts. Thus Mahalaxmi hurdles are overcome.
Mahalaxmi bids successfully and gets contract with a high profile company. Topiaz in order to compensate it comes with a new plan and stakes claim the ownership of Yamuna Associates.
Prakash in order to get back the documents from Topiaz tells to him that it was Rani who was the cause for the loss of his hand.
Prakash lures Rani for a party but gets himself killed. The police start investigating the case and take Mahalaxmi for enquiry and put her in cell.
Inspector Kaliamurthy gets into arguments with Mahalaxmi and slaps her.
AC tells Balaji that the release of Mahalaxmi depends on Sandhya. Balaji meets Anand and tells him somehow to find Sandhya and bring her.
In order to get Mahalaxmi released from the police custody Prakash takes the blame himself and tells the police that he has murdered Topiaz.
