Gopi's father and his uncle have a long walk and discuss about the family matter. Vanitha and Kamu come to Gopi's house and Gopi's mother gets overjoyed seeing her talkative nature. They also come to know that the marriage between Gopi and Vanitha may not break.
Maha is brought to Gopi's house by her parents and they tell she will remain here and marry Gopi.
Nelli Andavar i.e., Murthy's father goes to see his brother who is ill. He finds him living in a hut in a very poor condition. His brother on seeing Nelli Andavar is overjoyed, he tells that after marrying second time he has failed to look after his family and is bed-ridden. He introduces his second wife and daughter.
Nelli Andavar admits him to a hospital where the doctor gives two days time for his life.
Pandi pleads his mother to bring back Maha to his house. So she goes to Gopi's house and pleads with Maha's mother to allow Maha to stay in her house and she promises that if Maha wishes she can marry Gopi. Maha is brought back to Pandi's house.
Gopi meets Malar and tells her that the line is now clear for him to marry her and waits for her response. But when Malar tells him that Gokul is reformed now and she will marry him he gets upset.
Back at home when everyone compels Gopi to marry Vanitha he accepts it. Gopi's family visit Vanitha's family and gives their acceptance in accepting Vanitha as their daughter-in-law.
When Paramu asks Pandi his marriage photo he shows the album to her. Paramu shows the photos to Maha. Maha seeing the marriage photo faints. Maha is hospitalised. The doctor at the hospital tells that Maha is under recovery. When Pandi is sitting alone with Maha who is half conscious he hears her spelling out the name of Gopi.
Doctor tells the family members that if the medicine that he gives is given properly then Maha should recover fully.
Gopi's father meets Malar and finds that she is adamnt in not marrying Gopi. He tells her that he knows that she is not telling this with her full heart.
At Murthy's house Kamu is being tortured by her mother-in-law by giving her a full time work and doses of purposeful meaningless abuses.
Vanitha makes a visit to Gopi's tailor shop and teases him that her dream was to marry a software engineer but she as agreed to marry him because of his character. After marriage he has to behave and act as per her wishes and orders. If he does not like this kind of attitude from her then he can refuse this marriage.
Maha is looked after her mother who had come there and she is shocked to hear her say the name of Gopi and calls Gopi. Gopi takes his cycle and returns from his shop. On the way he sees Paramu standing in front of Sendhil's house and brings her along. He tells her that he will break her hands and legs if he sees her once more like this.
Rohini gets to know from Malar that she is not going to marry Gokul and becomes happy.
The talks for engagement fixation dates of Gopi and Vanitha gets postponed. Maha's mother asks her brother to arrange for Gopi's and Maha's marriage. A new problem is brewing.
Murthy's father is proposing a alliance to Vanitha and asks them to come to see her. Vanitha though first refuses that she still wanted to study later relents.
Gokul's parents once again try their luck coming to Malar's house and ask them to consider the re-joining. Malar's father takes one week time to decide.
Rohini tells Malar that Gokul is a very bad guy and Gopi is the only person she should marry.
Gopi gives his parents Rs.50,000/- which he had received as advance for performing Nadaswaram Katcheri.
Paramu goes to see her friend and finds Sendhil and tries to talk to him but he goes away. Her friend talks great of him and Paramu falls for it.
Rani who had taken to beauty course is accused of taking gold from the bag of a customer in the beauty centre. Gopi is called in by the proprietor of the beauty parlour and he comes along with his father to Coimbatore to sort out the matter.
In the end the thief is caught who is none other than the painter.
Gopi thinks that after Maha marries Pandi his route is clear to marry Malar and goes to say this to Malar with great expectations. When he is about to tell his wishes to Malar Gokul comes there and Gopi leaves the place.
Rohini once again tells Malar that Gopi is the right person for her to marry and sets out to meet Gopi and tell this. On the other side Murthy's father hears that Gopi gives roses to Vanitha, he enquires about this to Vanitha and finds there was nothing wrong was done there. Suddenly he feels that Gopi could be the right person for Vanitha and tells this to his wife. Her wife already found this as an good idea and thinks deeply of how to bring back Kamu to their house. Now there could be two front attack on Gopi to marry Malar on one side and Vanitha on the other.
Maha refuses to eat food but when Pandi comes there and feeds her she takes food.
Rohini tells that she wants to read and wants to go to foreign while her brother refuses her to send her to foreign since she may bring more trouble do to her behaviors. He tells to marry her off. Rohini refuses for any marriage. Her father tells her emotionally that he wants to die becoming a grandfather.
Maha doctor tells her parents that it will take time for Maha to recover. He tells no one can tell when she will recover and that they have to wait patiently until she recovers. The doctor tells appreciation of Pandi to them and how he told him that he will wait until she recovers.
The day is of Kamu's birthday and all the family wishes her. Gopi tells on this auspicious day they have to go to temple and asks her to accompany him.
Murthy through Gopi had asked him to bring his wife Kamu to temple. Gopi takes her to temple but when she sees Murthy she refuses to talk to him and take the saree which Murthy had brought as a gift for her birthday. Kamu tells until her uncle Murthy's father accepts her as his daughter-in-law she will not talk or take any gift from him. She does not want him to mistake her knowing that they are meeting secretly and get unhappy. She tells whatever her uncle tells she is going to abide it.
Murthy begs Kamu to take the saree and Kamu refuses it and as they move out of the temple they see Murthy's mother standing there staring at them angrily.
Back at home Murthy's mother complains her husband on Kamu but those words fall as positive feedback and brings more good to Kamu and he starts loving her. And when Kamu comes there and falls on his feet seeking blessing on her birthday he is really moved and blesses her. He wants her to come back to live in his house but his wife is adamnt and is against her. Kamu tells her mother-in-law and goes out telling until she calls her back she will not return.
Maha parents decide to give her a unique treatment to cure her mental illness i.e., putting red hot iron on her body.
Pandi along with his father comes there and puts an end to this kind of things and lastly it is decided by Pandi's father that henceforth leaving Maha in her parents hand is not good for her and tells Pandi to bring her to his house. After initial protests Maha's parents agree since it was Pandi who had saved her when she tried to drown in the well.
Gopi plays Nadaswaram in a 60th year marriage party which is melodious to the gathering who have assembled there including Malar and they applause and welcome it. A dikshit immediately gives an advance of Rs.50,000/- and asks him to perform in his temple.
Nelli Andavar gets to his height of temper and slaps his wife when she questions him why he had brought back Kamu.
Gopi is called by Rohini, he meets Rohini and Malar. Gopi tells the condition of Maha that it will take three more months for her to get cured, that she is believing he had tied the knots to her etc, which Malar believes.
At that time Maha calls up Gopi and asks him to come urgently to house for celebrating first night. He tells this to Malar and she laughs seeing his condition.
Gopi somehow escapes from the situation telling Maha that he has a programme to attend to and that only in the morning he will be able to return.
